You have a lovely blog - I found you through Fennel & Fern. I'm jealously looking at all your lovely vege photos, as it's winter in New Zealand and everything is very slow at the moment! I have some arctic tomato seedlings in and they are (slowly) growing - I haven't grown them before so I'm interested to see how much earlier they will fruit, if at all. I've also got some peas sprouting in my glasshouse - regular *and* sugar snap!
.-= Ruth´s last blog ..<a href="http://ghostmyst.blogspot.com/2009/06/its-gone.html" rel="nofollow">It's gone!</a> =-.

I direct sowed them. The ones I had in the raised beds did even better than these, but then they were mowed off by the deer. These are planting in pots by the garage.

Lots of mini tomatoes awaiting ripeneing -- and I have harvested a few ripe ones already. Small peppers on the vine...peas were promising, but shriveled...favas almost ready to harvest...lots of greens...small carrots, thinnings actually, are so cute like mini veg in a salad...

I am sure we have some baby lima beans already...have to go hunting for them tomorrow. Nothing else yet, except our fig tree, which is laden with little green figs (not exactly a veg, but still exciting)! Your peas look wonderful! :) Silke

I know I should wait until my radishes and snap peas get bigger, but they're so yummy when they're young and tender. I can't resist.

Nice pea! Did you start these early as transplants or direct sow? I'm curious because I started mine in peat pots about a month early in the cold frame. All I currently have is lots of blooms.

Ah that is funny. Yesterday I was jumping for joy about my baby chilies and tomatoes. I posted a short little post with really bad photos. This morning I saw my first baby pea - Cascadia. My other peas aren't far behind. This is such an exciting time in the garden.
