I wish I lived somewhere where I could walk to the grocery and other places I needed to go. I do walk to work (well, I work from home:).

I could walk in to the Post Office and library, but it would take a few hours.

I treasure the glory I get living in a place where the seasons change so beautifully. I treasure the beautiful leaves on the ground I saw on my walk to work that reminded me of a red plush carpet. The scurrying anmals gathering food before winter. The mountains contrast I treasure that I am able to walk to work, peaceful, slow and in the beauty of nature.

Smells. I can’t put my finger on a particular one but it seems smells are so much more potent in the cool air. I can say that pumpkin spice flavors are so appealing; especially in the evenings.

I had a moment just last night, actually (or rather, very early this morning), when I was lying awake in bed considering a description I read recently of the wattle and mud cottages common in England in the middle ages. I was thinking, in my half-awake state, that while my house is cold, at least I don’t have the wind blowing chinking and rain into my bed.

My standards are pretty low, obviously.
