Quote of the Day: Aaron Rose
One day when Mr Chiots and I were on a walk, we spotted these dried up weeds in the ditch by the side of the road. They were beautiful in the evening sunlight and caught our eye. Not something I would notice as a thing of beauty on most occasions, but on this evening it certainly was! Often I’m inspired to take photos because of the light. Here are a few other moments that were made extraordinary by the light and moment.
Have you ever noticed something extraordinary because of the light and the moment?

I would rather say that the light and the moment make simple things extraordinary. The view from my kitchen window is the same every day, but the same view on a sunny, dawny morning makes it the most wonderful thing I’ve ever seen…

Your photos are GORGESOUS! We had the PERFECT first day of Spring yesterday. The light this time of year is amazing with a backdrop of new flowers, the brilliant blue of the afternoon sky, and I love the way it sparkles across our pond. Bliss. : ) Melissa

Ah ha! I think light is the secret to ALL good photos. My eye looks for it and I jump at the chance to shoot in “magic light.” You, too know what that is: I can tell from your photos! So so very good. :)

So true that light makes the photo come alive.
Thanks for stopping by today. I’ve been following you for a while without leaving a comment, and I should’ve. Your Midwestern sensibility grounds me, and I like that with my morning coffee since I’m a displaced Midwesterner at heart.

I would say that the beauty lies in the eye of the looker too. But it’s true that light changes your perspective and makes you see things differently

Suzy, your photos are truly beautiful and inspirational. I visit your site every morning after I feed our cats and chickens and see the sun rise on our urban homestead; it makes a difference in my day. The beauty you capture with your photography inspires me to look for similar beauty in my world. Thank you!
I noticed in one of your photos a Christmas tabletop ornament. I remember a similar ornament from my childhood in the Netherlands. If my memory serves me well the wooden blades rotate from the heat of the candles. I would love to find out where it was purchased.

The Christmas Chimes our Carousels were always lit on Christmas in our home as well. I’m not sure where my mom purchased this one, it was a gift to my dad 15 years ago. I think she got it from an on-line store.
Here’s a place that sells some nice ones. http://www.oldworldnutcrackers.com/christmas-carousel.html
You may find more on-line if you search a little.
