Making Your Own Whole Grain Mustard

June 7th, 2011

I posted my recipe for Whole Grain Stout Mustard on the Your Day blog at Ethel so head on over there. If you remember I talked about my love of condiments one Friday. Of all the condiments mustard is my favorite. I love a good hearty whole grain mustard, but they can be pricey in the store. Making your own is quick and easy.

I get my organic mustard seeds from Mountain Rose Herbs in case you’re wondering, they’re inexpensive and you can buy in bulk. People will certainly be impressed when you take homemade mustard to the next cookout you attend.

Head on over to the Ethel Blog and tell me what your favorite condiment is.

We’re mustard lovers too. We had a family gathering this weekend and as I was pulling condiments out I realized we had 5 different mustards and no ketchup.

Homemade mustard is definitely something I need to start doing.

My favorite is a three pepper may ; Cubeb, black and pink peppercorn. Delicious on burgers. I`m also a BIG fan of my mom`s sweet relish.

Thank you for posting this! Whole grain mustard is a very common thing in New Zealand, where we lived for a year, but I haven’t been able to find it since moving back to the States. Can’t wait to have this stuff on hand again!

Oh no! I lost this mustard recipe and now the link is gone! Is it posted anywhere else? I’m kind of freaking out since it’s my FAVORITE mustard in the whole wide world and I could kick myself for not printing it off. Dangit!
