P is for ______________

August 19th, 2011

PRACTICAL – I’m as practical as can be. I have a hard time doing things and spending my money on things that aren’t needed.

PONYTAIL – because I’m so practical, my hair is always in a pony tail. I let it grow long, cut it and donate it every 2 years. It’s practical because I don’t have to spend time drying and styling or spend money getting my hair cut.

PHOTOGRAPHY – something I’ve been getting into over the past couple years. I find it’s a great creative outlet and a great way to have a visual journal of my life. I love looking back over the photos of my gardens in previous years to see how much they have evolved over time.

PICKLE LOVER – yep I have 5 gallons of fermented dill pickles in my fridge.

PERFECTIONIST – this is definitely a good and bad trait. Good because it makes me strive for the best, bad because is can lead to frustration. I try to keep it in check and make sure I’m not spending too much time and frustrating myself by trying to make things too perfect.

PHONE AVERTED – I HATE talking on the phone. The invention of e-mail has been a wonderful thing for people like me. I love being able to take time to think through what I’m going to say and to do it in my own time. I feel like e-mail saves me lots of time.

Hi I agree about the phone, I used to like the phone but I much prefer email too except for arranging meetings with groups of people, then the phone is quicker always. Lovely flower photo, is it an allium of some sort? Galloping on towards the end of the alphabet Yee Ha!

…And p.s. – I so despise the phone. I’ve had visions of throwing it in our pond. Seriously. :o)

I am LOVING these posts, definitally! Can I join the anti-phone revolution? :D
For one, your photography is astounding. The blur, the crispness, the placement! LOVE!
I do wish for sometime in the future [unless you have already, I must do a search!] a post about how you set up your camera… Sadly I lack a super awesome camera, I have a Canon Powershot [from 2009?] which I still do not fully understand how to take *proper* pictures… Plant Mode > Macro is how I take almost 90% of the photos of my garden. ISO? Shutter Speed? These are foreign…
But aside the point, LOVE the photo on this one! I think that this Sedum is always more beautiful before it blooms!

Thanks Donna – I have an old camera as well, but it is one on which I can change the lenses (of which I have a few). I think playing around with the settings and experimenting is the best way to get better. Taking photos every day and trying to take photos of the same things from different angles also helps. I’ll have to think about doing a few posts about this someday – problem is that I don’t really consider myself an expert in this area – so I feel like it would be the blind leading the blind.

I used Photography too! I love pickles as well, we just canned a bunch of dilly beans though. I’m letting my hair grow out again, I’m wearing it in a pony tail right now but I just learned how to french braid it myself though. My sister drank a jar of pickle juice when she was a little girl! I hate talking on the phone as well but I’ve gotten better about it though.

    My R is up!

    Phone averter?
That is completly perfect! I don’t have a cell phone.
My dream invention would be for me to be able to transmit my thoughts to someone whenever I like and only whenever I like. No phone. No email. Perfect.
