S is for _____________

August 23rd, 2011

SUSY – My name, short for Susan – which I never go by so it’s weird when someone calls me that.

SIMPLE – the older I get the more I try to simplify my life. I’m doing pretty well. The best part of simplifying my life is that it saves a lot of money as well and it gives me more time.

SKEPTICAL – I’m very skeptical of a lot of things, always needing to read more and research before believing something. Everything I read and hear I take with a grain of salt.

SALTY – I love salt, real salt. I have a wide variety of salt, my favorite being pink Himalayan salt. We consume a lot of salt. I don’t believe the hype that salt is bad for you, especially if you’re using a good sea salt with lots of minerals.

SAVER – I’ve always been a saver, my piggy bank being one of my favorite things as a kid. I always loved heading down to the bank with my savings account book to have the teller write my deposits in. I loved seeing the totals go up and up.

STUBBORN – I can be quite stubborn in a lot of ways. Most often it comes in the form of determination, but sometimes it’s simple stubbornness.

What words/phrases describe you that start with a S?

hehe! Okay, I take back my comment about the Hydrangea photo – this is the best one yet! Such a great idea, hehe!
I also love the bit about Saving – I am a bank teller and I *LOVE* helping little kids balance their savings records! it’s so rewarding both ways. ♥

Speaking of salt, Susy…! I recently received the Ethel gloves and salt scrub of yours from the give-away they had and I just wanted to tell you how much I liked the salt scrub. It works wonderfully to make even my hands soft. Jack has sometimes mentioned my hands being a little rough, due to the work I do, and he thought they felt great after I used the scrub! Thanks again! Oh, I have been very impressed with the Ethel gloves too; very sturdy.

Definition of STUDIOUS- Im well known for being quite studious..
1 assiduous in the pursuit of learning
2: of, relating to, or concerned with study b : favorable to study
3: diligent or earnest in intent b : marked by or suggesting purposefulness or diligence
c : deliberately or consciously planned

Spiritual- I was raised in a fairly conservative Christian home, and have spent my 50 years studying and experiencing many religious and spiritual beliefs. While I wouldnt consider myself particularly religious, I definitely consider myself spiritual, always have, and always will.

Sweet- sometimes. ;) Certainly not every moment of my life..

Silly-Im definitely silly.. Something really stupid tickles my funny bone and Im all for letting it out. For example today.. There was an orange on our admins desk that someone left in a meeting room. I decided to write a note on it… then decided to give a big ol smiley face.. and one thing led to another and it morphed into a smiley, angry, orange with rubber band curly hair, & big blue eyes with big black eyelashes! We left it sitting in a Dutch wooden shoe as a stand to keep it steady.

Smiley- Im a smiley face and I love smiley faces. People usually think something is wrong if Im not smiling at them, though sometimes Im just turned inside instead of out. :D , :-) ☺ or often appear in my posts & texts because I really am smiling..

I had a teacher in high school who had a smile pasted on her face at all times. I liked her but when I was feeling crabby, she irritated me with her pasted on smile.. Funny thing is, I know she had a smile in her heart & soul too and sometime later I came to emulate her and become thankful for her example in my life..

Smiley & Sunshine are 2 of my nicknames, obviously for my smiles and my sunny disposition.. most of the time. ;)

Sensitive- I have a very sensitive soul.. I feel everything but have learned to not let the external world affect me in as negative way as it used to do. I have a high level of awareness of the world & people at many levels. The price for sensitivity is sensitivity however every moment can be beautiful because of that same sensitivity.

Searching-Im always searching for something new.. always learning and experiencing something new.
