Finding Inspiration

November 2nd, 2011

Being the type of person that doesn’t sit still much, I’m always busy. Recently however, I’ve been feeling busy, which doesn’t happen often to me no matter how much I have to do in my day. When I get this way I have trouble finding my creativity. Not taking time to notice some of the intricate beauty around me is what bogs me down. Yesterday morning after working for a few hours I looked out the window and noticed the beautiful morning; the sun was shining and a heavy frost made everything shine. I took twenty minutes to head outside and take some photos and it made all the difference.

These photos will be a good reminder to take some time each day to notice something beautiful. I need this time as it’s my meditation time of sorts, oddly enough slowing down to notice beauty around me helps me accomplish more in my day. I’m incredible thankful that yesterday was such a sunny, bright, and beautiful morning and I’m thankful that I looked away from my computer to notice!

What is something you have found inspiring lately?

I liked what you wrote in the last part of the blog post that we must see something beautiful and inspiring everyday. It motivates one to think positively. What has inspired me lately is the talk with my sister who said that if we go on thinking positive then it shall eventually happen in our life. Thanks for the amazing post!

Since I started photographing I see beauty all around me, in pretty much everything. I have to actually restrain myself sometimes not to just be forlorn in the moment when others expect me to do something productive & useful. :) Makes you feel connected to something bigger than you.

Beautiful photos! I noticed your are reading Onward and Upward in the Garden. I have this book with the same cover by my bedside and pick it up to read a few pages every now and then. It is a lovely book.

I have a small point and shoot camera that the kids gave me last Christmas. On days when I’m not “seeing,” if I simply walk out into the yard with the camera in hand, I do begin to pay attention, to see the beauty. Works every time.
Thanks for the beautiful pictures you post.

I agree with you all.. camera in hand is like a prayer in action. Gods beauty has always inspired me as have words of wisdom. I receive a couple each day of really great emails with quotes. Many of them are very inspiring and set a great tone to my day…

A beautiful and inspiring post! I cannot list here all of the things I am finding beautiful about this season we call autumn. It is overwhelmingly fascinating and alluring. The colors, textures, and sunlight make me smile every day.

It’s a shame to feel that way, it’s almost hopeless… I get days like that, in a constant rut of feeling overwhelmed. It doesn’t help that my garden was buried under a foot and a half of snow the other day. I have to recover though – trim and pull out the dead/dying plants, and cherish those that are still holding on! [go snow peas, go!]

Those photos are astonishingly beautiful. I’m particulary fond of the close up of the fern-y frond with the droplets. It almost glows.
Thank you for posting these, they made my day as well!

Letting myself & the garden rest has been quite inspiring…now my son & I have more time for random art projects or just relaxing and watching the leaves fall.

Really beautiful photos! No need for words as the dew on the leaves and the color of the morning are enough to inspire anyone who feels somewhat out of sync. You really have a good eye. Keep it up!

I am never up in the morning early enough to take ‘morning photos’, but these are almost enticing enough to get me out of bed on time!
