On the Road Again

March 4th, 2012

Remember when I mentioned a month or so ago that Mr Chiots and I were headed to Florida to film a few events?  Well, these past two weeks we were on the road again.  Driving down to Florida, stopping for three days in Orlando to film the Disney Princess Half Marathon for Girl Power 2 Cure.  My college girlfriend works for the charity and has a daughter with Rett Sydrome and we like to help when we can. Then we had a few days off and headed down to Key West, where we went to Dry Tortugas National Park and enjoyed some relaxing camping in our tiny teardrop by the the ocean. Then we were off to Naples for another event and made sure to stop at the botanical gardens of course. Then on to Tampa and Georgia to visit family and a few friends along the way.

Originally we were hoping to take a few more days for a bit of a vacation, but we have a tripped planned to Maine again in April/May to look at houses, so our vacation days will be spent doing that. In the coming weeks I’ll be sure to share the wonderful things we experienced as I have time to sort through the photos.

Do you have any trips planned for this year?

For everyone that’s wondering how we manage to eat healthfully while we’re out on the road – there’s a post all about it over on Eat Outside the Bag.

Glad you had some time away. Sounds like a busy trip.
Can’t wait to hear more about it!

[singing] “Like a band of gypsys we go down the highway”,
    “We’re the best of friends”
“Insisting that the world keep turning our way”
“And our way…is on the road again”
    …Okay, I’m done. *giggle* ;o)

…So glad to hear that you both got a lil’ time away. Even tho’ it sounded like a full itinerary, it’s nice to get away. My husband has fishing trips planned, does that count? As soon as finances allow, I have him talked into a vacation to Vermont. I’ve always wanted to go there.

…I LOVE your car btw! You have a little Mini Cooper, yes? Cute, cute, cute. :o)

…Can’t wait to see the photos. Enjoy your Sunday you two!

    …Blessings :o)

Yes – we got a MINI 5 years ago and LOVE it. The perfect car for motoring along. We didn’t take it on this trip because we had to take all of our video equipment with us.

We’re headed to SoCal this year for my husband’s 1st solo art show. We won’t be road-tripping but it will be an adventure! We’ve been thinking about a trip south to Texas this fall..

Hope you have safe travels & fantastic adventures!

I had 2 week long trips to Texas planned but they’ve been cut as of right now. I may still get the fall trip in but Im not sure at the moment.

I wanted to go to Monticello this year too.. aint happening. :(

I imagine I’ll do a couple overnight trips to western NY to the Chautauqua area though. If not, long day trips there.

Usually always stay-cation. Now that gasoline is screaming high again, there will be no-cation.

The price is gas is crazy high – of course it jumped up the day we left for our trip. At least our was a work trip so the costs were covered by our clients!

Spending time out of the country! Due to some inheritance, we can take a trip trip we’ve had on our wish list for some time – Thailand. We have friends who live there in Chaing Mai. This should be a lot of fun and some work helping out. A for me a great photo op for me!
