Taking a Bit of a Breather
The forecast is quite nice for this week, it looks like I’ll be able to get a lot of garden chores checked off my list. Which is good because the list was getting quite long. In order to find the time, I’ll be take a bit of a break from the Non-Toxic Cleaning Series so I can spend a little less time writing and a little more time in the garden (series will be back next week). I also have a few new cleaning recipes that I’m trying out. The backlog of garden topics is getting long, and I want to get out of the way so I don’t forget. I also have a few great giveaways this week and next.
As always, Dexter is the star of the Taking a Day Off post. He certainly knows how to stop and smell the roses, or enjoy an open window in this case.
On my to-do list this week: finish building rock wall in front of tulip garden, harvest compost, sow beets, mulch garlic and flowerbeds with chopped leaves, plant ranunculus, seed hanging baskets & containers with nasturtium in basement, etc.
What garden chores are on your to-do list this week?

Enjoy your week of gardening chores! Sounds like you’re in store for a lot of good, hard work (which is also fun).
I just got my potatoes planted yesterday. We are harvesting lettuce and tending the peas, watermelon, sweet potatoes and pole beans. May have to replant the eggplant-again. I am mostly maintaining at this point.

Sounds like your going to be very busy in the garden :) I have dug up a small new area in the veg garden which Im planning on planting up with nectar rich perenials for insects & our honeybees.
Also have tomatoes and peppers to pot on, Dahlias to pot up, more beetroot seeds to plant, salad seeds need planting out….really need to sow seeds for my cutting garden. Yikes busy.

Dexter certainly looks like he know how to relax.

After receiving over 4 inches of rain over the weekend, I can’t get to the garden to turn it over, or work on my mushroom beds. Maybe later in the week. Now, just starting a round of tomatoes and cucumbers, repotted some peppers and doing catch-up work in the kitchen, like dehydrating some veggies for soup base, which I will do a post later on in the month.
Thank you for sharing your green cleaning recipes. After some of this is done, that’s next on the list…
Have a wonderful week

Richard’s mowing today – too windy for me -achooo! but we’ve finished new strawberry beds, preparing to plug mushrooms (hubby’s dream after so many years), sow some seeds, finish preparing garden, etc. – and watching our bluebirds adapt to our presence. It’s been so much fun watching them protect their territory from other birds. A very determined couple I must say!
