Boxes, Boxes, Everywhere

September 22nd, 2012

We found this note on the table of the new Maine house:

There are boxes everywhere, stacked to the ceiling and filling the rooms. Now begins the long process of cleaning, unpacking, and figuring out how our lives will fit into this house. In essence, we will set to work making this house a home. My computer is still packed up and thus I can’t download the photos from my camera yet. Tomorrow we’re off to the Common Ground Fair!

Welcome to Maine. I went to the fair yesterday and it was great. If you like crabmeat, the vendor with crabmeat rolls gives a generous serving.

Those aren’t boxes, they’re cat traps. Hope you catch some big ones!

Susy, moving day finally arrived, huh. Dexter had other plans about moving, I guess. Final goodbyes are always a little sad. I’m sure it won’t be long before you will be settled at your new place with gardening plans glore.

Such a nice note the previous owners left you. I’m sure the new home will generate just as many great memories as the old one.

    Have a great Maine day.

wow…you are hitting the ground running! I just googled The Common Ground Fair (http://www.mofga.org/TheFair/tabid/135/Default.aspx) and it looks like a wonderful event. Have fun and network, make some new friends, and settle into the fabric of life in Maine.

I’ve been reading your blog for about a year and a half since I first started my garden here in Honolulu, Hawaii. I grew up in Maine and only had small potted herbs there so it will be really interesting to see your blog transfer to my other home state. Since everything I grow here is more tropical vs. Maine it is definitely a nice change to be able to grow year round, (althought slightly exhausting). Love the blog welcome to Maine!
