It’s a Wrap
We finally came up with an idea for our Christmas card. If possible, we like to incorporate something significant from the year into our cards, this year, moving to Maine was fairly significant. We thought and thought, trying to incorporate it into our cards in some way. Then it hit me, moving boxes. For the past 6 months our lives have been filled with many boxes. Thus, we decided it would be fitting for them to grace our Christmas card.
I was joking with Mr Chiots that we should just set up a Christmas tree of boxes. Then a lightbulb went off in my head – that’s what we’ll do for our card.
The back looks like this, we added our new address on it and a box for addresses in photoshop. And off to the printer they went. No doubt, next week I’ll find myself at the kitchen table addressing all my cards to friends and family. If you would like to receive a Chiot’s Run Christmas card, message me your address with the contact me form to the right.
Do you enjoy getting holiday cards?

What a great idea for your Christmas cards. Love the tree stand box at the bottom… and yes, I do enjoy getting Christmas cards ~ it’s a great time to catch up with family and friends you don’t see on a regular basis.

I find Christmas cards great for that too. I love seeing photos of my friend’s kids every year at Christmas!

Beautiful, but I’ll enjoy it here rather than requesting one.

Very clever! You always have the best ideas :)
I DO enjoy sending and receiving Christmas cards! I think the old ways are great and feel that there is not much better than a letter or card from a friend. I love to save them to read with a cup of coffee or tea and really enjoy.
I think that the current generations are missing something as simple and beautiful as the skill/art of communicating via the written word.

What a wonderful idea! LOVING the card!
We follow the same kind of though process when picking out our annual Christmas ornament – something that really represents our year.
I love receiving cards but stopped sending them around the birth of my second child. Maybe this year will be the year we start up again! My mom’s card this year has so far been my favorite – 1940s Scandinavian cards she found at an estate sale – too perfect!

Oh you guys!!! That is probably one of the more unique and clever card designs I’ve seen! Love it!
I am, unfortunately, not that clever. Nor am I good at sending cards out – although I love to get them! I get at least six cards yearly from my sister in law that involves my niece and nephew, and I adore those!
Plus the brother in law in Florida that sends me a yearly card, it always has photos of their pets, so I love that one too. [big animal-lover family, gotta love that!]
I really should get onto the scheme of things and start sending out cards… haha! One year… one year…

What a wonderful card!! I love it!!
I love to send & receive Christmas cards.. I even love those Christmas letters others complain about with updates on everyone in the family.. I rarely see them anymore though..
It seems each year that my Christmas card list gets smaller & smaller but I still send out about 40 cards. Usually I make this years card with last years Christmas Morning pictures, but its not happening this year. Hopefully, next year we’ll have some good pics to use.. This was a totally bad picture year.

I love getting cards, though I never send them. I especially love the newsletters, because I’m a voyeur and enjoy spying on someone’s life via the newsletter.
We joke we could send out the most entertaining newsletter ever, complete with photos. “This year the Family Blackrock butchered a dozen of our own lambs and discovered that a reciprocating saw is a perfect stand-in for a bone saw! Who knew!”
Well, it would be entertaining to us, anyway.

Love getting Christmas cards or any kind of personal mail. One year I used the image of me from a red light enforcement camera. It was a huge penalty so I tried to find a silver lining. This year my post op X-rays help send Merry Christmas wishes.
