Farmer Chiots

February 5th, 2013

Ever since we moved to our new place in Maine, Mr Chiots has been looking for tractors on Craig’s List. Luckily, our new neighbor Matt is well versed in the tractor world and has been helping.

A week ago Sunday, they headed up to look at one that looked promising. When he returned, Mr Chiots had the manual and big smile on his face. He had purchased his chariot. Luckily we found a great deal on a used one.

This past Saturday, they rented a trailer from a friend, and made two trips to bring home the tractor and all the implements.

Lucky me, now I can have Mr Chiots dig holes for trees in a snap with a tractor. It will sure come in handy when it comes to tending the driveway and squirreling away firewood to stay warm in the winter.

What’s your favorite garden tool or machine?

Congratulations! We just made a tractor purchase as well (ours is much, much older — a 1953 Ford NAA with a bucket) and for the very same reasons (especially our long, long driveway that is in constant need of work). Ours arrived this past Saturday. Wishing you many happy hours in your chariot!! They are wonderfully useful!!

Whaa-hoo! That’ll make your gardening chores a lot easier. A tractor is a beautiful thing. So, I guess you did your research on Kubotas and found them most reliable, huh? Enjoy!

Looking forward to purchasing some acreage and a tractor as well. Hoping it happens at some point this year. Enjoy your new ride, looks like it will be very helpful as you tend to your projects.

WHAT?! THAT tractor would be my favorite. I’m green and I don’t mean environmentally friendly.

“He had purchased his chariot”. Love it.

I’m a fan of my rummage sale wheelbarrow. I purchased it for $5 from a neighbor on the next block the day that we moved in, and have been lugging it around the yard ever since. It’s old and heavy and certainly not the most efficient thing to haul sod in, but it holds a special spot in my heart.

My husband would be jealous. One of our neighbor’s has one and we can see it sitting there, unused, and us over on our side wishing we had it for a variety of reasons.

Definitely our riding lawn mower with the dump bucket attachment has come in *very* handy!

Nice tractor but I wouldn’t have anything but green ones. Could use this to plant my 140 trees I want to get in this spring, plus a few others here and there. Congrats.
