Quote of the Day: Robert Burns
“The snowdrop and primrose our woodlands adorn, and violets bathe in the wet o’ the morn.”
Robert Burns
I almost missed these lovelies last week because I was so busy sugaring. So thankful to see a little bloom in the garden. I also have Johnny Jumpups blooming in the back potager – I think spring has finally arrived!
What’s blooming in your garden?

Sweet snowdrops. Must make a mental note to add some to our gardens. We are in the thick of Spring with crocuses and hazel trees done with blooming, magnolias, andromedas, and Lenten roses are fading, the Oregon grape, heather, primoses, and daffodils are in full bloom and tulips are starting their show now. The apple, aronia berry, and cherry tree blossoms are starting to unfurl-the latter being my favourite time of gardening season.
Happy Spring!

Daffodils and chives are just poking through the ground and I am thrilled!

Crocus, tiny blue iris (Reticulata), snow drops. Johnny Jump Ups are just starting to show, daffodil greens and tulips leaves are up a few inches.
Silver tips are showing on the apple tree.
A friend was able to dig holes for bare root peonies: Spring is starting here in Southern New Hampshire!

Lots of blooms fading to fruit now.

With the exception of tulips against the southern foundation, I only have snow and more snow in my gardens.

We still have patches of snow around here. It’s supposed to be 70 on Wednesday. I have lettuce coming up in my winter sown milk jugs, as well as some annual flowers in another container. Spinach that I planted late september is starting to show some life again.
I’m hoping my peas and Spinach sown last weekend will be coming up soon.
