Have a Seat

July 8th, 2014

Last week new chairs arrived for the garden, they’re perfect.  I’ve been wanting to get a few adirondack chairs for a while and was searching for a local source.  Then our friend who owns a cedar mill posted that Rob from Maine Adirondack Chairs was picking up cedar.  I checked out his website and ordered two chairs and a potting table.  His chairs are lovely and they are priced very well.  Most likely a few more will be added to the garden in the future.

Rob delivered the chairs & table last week and I couldn’t be more pleased.  They are wonderful chairs and will provide us with a comfortable place to sit.  I love that the cedar is milled in town by a friend and they are built only 20 minutes away.  I could only get more local if I milled the wood and made them myself – which isn’t going to happen.

Do you have any seats in the garden?

Susy, gardens need a place to sit and drink in the peaceful quiet beauty of nature at work. For years I was a technological cubical corporate employee and missed the ways of nature. Logic ruled my life. I really didn’t know how stressful it was until I retired and came back to my farming roots. It was a wonderful reunion. Yes, I do have a place to sit and listen to all the garden sounds as I watch the plants …. and weeds …. wave in the breeze. It’s a donated refurbished picnic table. Many hours have been spent resting and many lunches have been eaten on that picnic table. It has become a landmark of Terra Nova Gardens.

Have a great Adirondack chairs in the garden day.

I love sitting and watching, listening and laughing in the spaces around our home and garden beds. I love enjoying our garden after working in it so much- really is rewarding! Nebraska Dave- I am so glad you found a peaceful path :)

i’ve just moved from my home to a townhome and brought all but two of my outdoor chairs with me. i have a table and chairs for eating (wrought iron) and a chaise lounge and two wooden adirondack chairs. i really don’t think i’ll have room for all this furniture in my little patio garden now but i know i’ll keep the adirondacks.
