In Print

October 18th, 2014

I sell photos to print magazines all the time along with writing a lot of articles for digital sources. While I was in Seattle I received my copies of Northern Gardener Magazine which contained an article I wrote and provided photos for.

It’s rather nice to receive a paper copy of a magazine with your name it in, even though I sell articles for online sources it’s just not quite the same as seeing your name in print.
magazine article 2
This article about something I’m very passionate about: Micronutrients! If you’re interested in a great magazine about cold climate gardening check out Northern Gardener Magazine (it’s published by the Minnesota State Horticultural Society).

If you subscribe you’ll notice my photos in it every so often, one of my photos even graced the cover once.

Do you have a favorite gardening magazine?

Susy, that’s fabulous! Your photos are always wonderful, and your articles (here on the blog and in your Seed Starting 101 ebook) are easy to read and full of good info. I may have mentioned a time or two (or twenty!) that my goal is to move to the mountains of western Montana – I’ll need such good information about cold climate gardening then.

Susy, I always smile when I see your name pop up during my travels through digital and paper copy media. I’ve been featured a couple times in GRIT magazine and yes there is some thing about seeing what you have written in print in a news stand magazine. I’ll have to check out the Northern Garden Magazine. I’m definitely in the Northern weather section of the Midwest. My garden is all put to bed for the Winter and all the water tanks have been drained with only a couple more to be cleaned. No matter how hard I try to keep the algae out of the tanks some creeps in over the summer. This is a landmark year for the water storage. I’ve finally made it through an entire garden year with no leaks in any of the water tanks. It’s taken about three years to get to this point. Putting the garden to bed is always a sad time of the year for me but this year is especially sad because of the disappointing results but February is coming and seed magazines will soon be arriving. Holidays will keep me busy until then.

Have a great in print day.

Too funny, probably the same feeling I get when people from North Carolina talk about their cold winters!

As for me, I have to smile whenever someone suggests places like Minnesota or Maine are “northern” :) If only we could have growing seasons like you have way down there!
