Friday Favorite: Sunrise

November 13th, 2015

It’s interesting that at certain times of the year I notice sunrises and sunsets more than at others. This time of year the sunrises become the highlight of my morning. Perhaps it’s the fact that the leaves are gone from the trees allowing for a wider view, perhaps it’s that the sun rises right in front of the house instead of over to the east where I can’t see it as much.

I suppose it doesn’t really matter why I notice it this time of year as long as I continue to do so. I love sitting in one particular chair letting the golden light shine in my eye while I drink my morning coffee.

Do you notice sunrises/sunsets more at certain times of the year?

I would say late Spring and early Fall. I get up half hour early. Make a cup of coffee and sit and read with the sun rising in the window next to me. It’s before my house is up and moving for the day. Just me and the sun. So peaceful. So pretty.

Susy, Spring is my sunrise time. As the days keep getting longer, I get to the garden before sunrise and am able to watch the sun come up and all the critters wake up. Since there’s a high bank behind my garden, sunsets are difficult to see. Sunsets are just not something that I get to see much.

    Have a great sunrise day

I have a small bistro set on a small deck facing east. In the spring, summer, and fall, it is a glorious place to greet the day. This time of year, I greet it from under my duvet cover.

I am very much more aware of sunrise and sunset after we go back to EST. Even though it is once again lightish out, the rising sun streams in through the windows to my computer desk. I’m even more aware of sunset because it is happening earlier and earlier. Even when we go through the winter solstice, the difference is negligible until late January.
