Quote of the Day: Henry Beston
“Higher, higher climbs the radiant noonday sun, the shadows grow shorter beneath the trees, snow slides from the roof, and the shingles steam. March is a beautiful month in th enorth for now the battle is won, and we of the country world can take new storms and returning snows with an easier heart; they will soon be gone.”
from Northern Farm by Henry Beston who lived not far from here.

Susy, yes, the snow is gone in Nebraska. I haven’t taken a soil temperature yet but the strawberries are green and growing. Of course the weeds are growing. I worked up my first raised bed this last week and planted some new strawberries on Saturday. Gardening has begun. This week I will be working on the final raised bed in the sweet corn fortress and starting to work on the inside fence. It’s finally going to be warm enough to seal up the wooden pallet deck for the spring development. I may even have that first section set in place by the end of the week. The temps will be in the 50s and 60s all week. Yippee Skippie
Have a great snowless day in the garden.
