Shelburne Farms: The Edible Garden

August 30th, 2016

The first day we went to Shelburne Farms was spent looking around the barns, talking to the cows, pigs, chickens, and touring the potager behind the big barn. It’s a lovely space, filled with perennial fruits and vegetables and a wide variety of annual vegetables and flowers as well. The design was nice, informal, but very productive and well done.

Susy, Shelburne Farms seems like an interesting farm with lots of activities going on every day. It must have been awesome to wander through the many garden areas. There’s not much emphasis on cared for gardens like in the North East USA. In my area the concentration is on row crop massive growing or a tomato or two next to a cucumber in the back yard. I sure wish we had more of what you have in your area.

Have a great memory day of the Shelburne Farms.

Do you know what the plant in the third picture down is?

Actually I don’t, I’m planning on researching to find out though. I’ll let you know when I do.
