Spicy not so micro Greens
So my spicy microgreens are long “micro”. They’re on to the baby greens stage, which is fine by me. They’re just as tasty at this stage and add a lot of flavor to a salad. In fact, they have so much flavor they’re good on their own with just a bit of vinegar and oil.
If I want to eat them at the micro stage, starting a flat every 3-5 days is probably the best option. Though I like them at this stage so maybe two flats every 10 days would work as well. Either way, I love that I’m growing some of our vegetables in the middle of winter!
What’s on your plate from the garden?

Nothing new for us here, but we are loving our onions garlic, shallots, celeriac, frozen herbs and wilted leeks.
We belong to a deep winter CSA which goes till mid Feb, and that wonderful farm provides us with lettuces, greens, spinach, carrots, potatoes, and surprises all winter long.
In fact, between what we put away and the CSA we have something available all year long and it is just wonderful.

Susy, I’m envious of your spicy greens. I wanted to do something like that this year but house issues kept me from having the time to plant them. Now that I have a little more time, it’s time to start thinking about starting cabbage and onions. The starting daye is only a couple weeks away.

Nothing in my garden now BUT I could have grown loads of spinach and greens for a longer time since it has been a very mild winter. It is hard not to run out and plant something :)

Honestly, just a few fresh herbs are on our plates right now. But still…totally worth it. Fresh herbs allow me to pass myself off as a better cook than I really am =)
