YAY
This time of year is when I notice that the days are getting longer. When I get up in the morning, the sun is starting to peek over the horizon, when Mr Chiots gets home from work there’s often a tiny bit of light left in the Western sky.
During the winter, I check my weather app daily to see how many hours of light we have. I watch it decline to below 9 hours and then steadily climb back up again. When we reach 10 hours a day I’m always happy as a clam, knowing that spring is truly on its way!
Do you have significant changes in number of daylight hours in your area?

Thank you for showing this screenshot. I haven’t had a smart phone long (a week) but this is my type app. I too am a diligent watcher of day length. I even print off calendars for myself and my grandchildren :) I watch the morning sunrise time and the evening sunset time. My husband’s commute and after work barn chores are so much easier in the daylight! I am always surprised by the extra time into January for the the morning sunrise time to start finally getting earlier. My calendar had Feb.2 as the first 10+ hour day, by Feb 21 my toddler Grandson will start arriving at sunrise, and by the end of the month my husband will get about 2 hours to do chores. And, the chickens are happy! It’s a great month.
