Bad Art Day: Batik

July 25th, 2017

A few friends and I started a Bad Art Club, we get together (hopefully once a month) and have a good time making art. We call it the bad art club so that no one is intimidated by feeling the need to make beautiful things. In reality, all art and creative pursuits are beautiful and the process is part of the joy and fun of it. On Sunday, we got together for our big day  of batik. It was long (10 hours of hard work), but it was so much fun.

What new creative pursuits have you been embarking on recently?

Susy, one thing I must say about you is that you certainly enjoy life to the fullest. You are never idle for long. If there ever is a person that could be used as an example on how to live life and enjoy it to the fullest, it would be you. I have really enjoyed watching and reading over the years all the things that spark your interest. Many have inspired me to try new things.

Yesterday was canning day. Pickles in the bathwater canner and green beans in the pressure canner were canned. Today is clean up the kitchen day. :-) The cukes and beans were on the vine at 6am and canned up in the jars by 6pm. It made for a long day but was very satisfying by the end of the day. The sweet corn is starting to come in now and several packages of corn was frozen last week. And so the harvesting begins.

    Have a great Maine day.

Love this! The creativity and pure industriousness resulting from a gathering of women is a thing to behold.
