Inspiration

August 14th, 2008

While reading a book a while back I came across this photo.

I love the sapling fence! I can’t imagine how much work it is to cut all those saplings to the proper length and attach them. This would be a good fencing option for my garden. I have an ample supply of saplings around so it would be inexpensive. But would it be worth the time and energy to cut them all? I’m not sure.

Inspiration: Trumpet Vine

July 28th, 2008

I’ve been thinking about training a trumpet vine up the electric pole that at the front right corner of our lot. I already have one growing on the light post back by our garage, so I was going to try to propagate it. This past Friday I dropped my niece off at a friend’s house to swim and I saw this. Just what I was hoping to do. Granted, it will take a long time for mine to look like this, but I want to get it started right away so it will look like this soon!

Oh yeah, here are my two nieces swimming in the pond (aren’t they cute).

About

This is a daily journal of my efforts to cultivate a more simple life, through local eating, gardening and so many other things. We used to live in a small suburban neighborhood Ohio but moved to 153 acres in Liberty, Maine in 2012.
