So Long Samson

August 6th, 2019

Yesterday morning found me at the vet with Samson, our 15 year old orange cat. His kidneys failed this past weekend and thus we had to say goodbye. It wasn’t a huge surprise, we found out this spring that his kindeys were starting to weaken. With supplements he gained an extra few months of life.

We adopted him and his sister Soafie as kittens many years ago and he’s been a wonderful member of the family for the past 15 years. He was Lucy’s favorite cat (Lucy was the lab mix that the gardens were named after) and a favorite of most people he met.

He was the typical orange male cat, friendly and loving, always willing to give love and accept love in return.

It’s always sad to say goodbye to our furry family members, but it’s nice to know they have lived long happy lives. So Long Samson.

JET LAG

November 8th, 2018

Mr Chiots and I have been in Israel for the past week (if you follow me on Instagram you already know), we arrived home yesterday evening. It was a work trip with a big of sightseeing thrown in. As you can imagine, it was a LONG flight there and back and we are feeling like this today:

Stay tuned, I’ll be sharing photos of our trip and all the things we saw coming up.

ZZZZZZZZZ

July 17th, 2018

Bog D sure knows how to relax. Sometimes I think I need to take a cue from him and take a bit of a cat nap in the afternoons.

We put these chairs in a shady spot under the old apple tree and there’s pretty much been a cat or two in them since we put them out. Clearly, they think we put them out for them.

Hope you can take some time to catch a cat nap today!

Garden Companions

May 12th, 2016

It’s nice having garden cats, it seems that whenever I’m working in the garden there’s a cat nearby. They bring me gifts of mice and voles, they happily roll in the catnip I planted for them.

When I’m spending LONG hours in the garden like I am this time of year, it’s nice to have the cats to keep me company.

Do you have any pets that “help” you in the garden?

So Helpful

Dexter is so helpful when it comes to the new afghan I’ve been working on. He’s pretty much claimed it as his own. If I have it out while working on it he immediately settles in on it for a nap.

I’m just about finished up with this project, which is good because I can’t wait to start on another. There are a few hats I want to make because it’s still winter and I need another warm hat or two. No doubt Big D will be happy when I’m finished with this blanket because he can sleep on it all the time.

Any fun crafty projects on your to-do list?
