Lazy Days

July 2nd, 2018

Now that the days are getting warmer, I find the cats lounging around the gardens quite frequently. The other day, I went outside to find Littles and Big D just lounging in the grass. It’s like they were chasing each other, got tired, and just flopped over. Which probably isn’t that far from the truth.

I hope you’re enjoying the beautiful summer weather as much as these two are.

Double Stack

April 30th, 2018

It’s great to wake up in the morning with sore muscles from spending the day gardening. While it’s beautiful and sunny during the day, it’s still getting chilly at night. The furnace is still working sometimes and the cats like to run over and lay on the vents when it comes on. Here we have Samson on a shelf above the vent and Littles laying on the vent right below him. Sometimes, there’s even a cat sitting up on top the bench for a triple layer of warming cat.

The cats never fail to entertain, that’s for sure. They keep me constantly chuckling and laughing.

What are you pets up to this week?

Life with Cats

December 28th, 2017

During the summer, all of our cats spend most of their time out in the garden hunting for rodents. In the winter, they mostly spend it indoors getting into mischief. They follow me around throughout the day, stealing my warm chair, begging me for food, and getting in my shots when I’m trying to take photos.

They’re a fun bunch and definitely keep life interesting.

Do you have indoor pets?

Cat Mushrooms

April 13th, 2017

We have five cats running around the garden and they show up here and there laying about the lawn, gardens, and driveway. We call them cat mushrooms since they pop up instantly.

I do love having cats in the garden, not only are they great for rodent control but also for company. There’s nothing better than having a cat following you around the garden.

Catnip

April 16th, 2015

I can tell you that the cats are super happy that spring has arrived. Every day they get a few sprigs of catnip to roll in and eat. They are LOVING it.

I grow it not only for them, but it makes a great insect repellant as well. While I’m working in the garden, I like to pick sprigs of it and rub in on my exposed skin to keep the bugs away. Perhaps that’s why cats love me so much.

Do you grow catnip for your cats or for it’s other properties?
