Taking Advantage
Yesterday was a beautiful day here in NE Ohio, it was sunny and warm (in the 60’s). We took advantage and went on a picnic and hiking with our very good friends.
The trail was south of Massillon, OH, it was a nice trail, perfect for running and biking.
It seems like a lot of people had the same idea we did, we saw a ton of people walking, jogging and riding their bikes. This little guy was having a blast!
Sorry for all of you that were looking forward to the sugaring post today, that will come tomorrow. I was in the garden planting lettuce and beets until nightfall and busy right up till bed time, so the sugaring post will come tomorrow when I can give it the time it deserves.
The perfect beautiful day was capped off by the most lovely sunset that Mr Chiots captured wonderfully as we were heading in from our outdoor chores.
Did you have a productive/relaxing/enjoyable weekend? What did you do?
It was a wonderful weekend. Hard to have it end…. more seeding here (lettuces, nothing too shocking) but the trip to the maple farm was a highlight, and the wonderful weather had me outdoors too enjoying the sunshine on Sunday. That, and a lot of baking, has me inspired for the spring (I love baking with the sun streaming into the kitchen).

Sounds like you had a lovely weekend. Mine was productive but not necessarily relaxing. We made an offer on an acreage this weekend and are waiting to see if they accept it. I was also busy doing prep work to get our current home ready to sell. The ground here is still frozen a few inches down so I wouldn’t have been able to plant but I took advantage of the warm weather to have windows open so I could strip wallpaper. Today- I hope my daughter paints. If not, I’ll be doing that when I get home from work.

I see you managed to be productive and have fun too this weekend. I can’t wait to read the sugaring post. My weekend was productive. The weather this year is very mild so I started to repot my orchids. I usually start with Paphiopedilums because they are the easiest ones to repot.

Refilled the indoor woodpile, fed the bees their first medicated sugar syrup of the year, emptied the half-frozen sap buckets, and went for a bicycle ride. It was a wonderful weekend, though planting is still some ways off; still a foot and a half of snow on the ground. But it’s melting!
