“No occupation is so delightful to me as the culture of the earth, and no culture comparable to that of the garden.”

Do flowers or vegetables bring you the most joy?

I think I like veg, because often the blossoms of the veg are beautiful as flowers in their own right, and then seeing the baby veg come out and develop into something that grows and eventually is ready to pick and eat is very rewarding. I love pea, pepper, and eggplant blossoms especially.

Most definitely vegetables. I enjoy flowers but that is not where my passion lies. I love the beauty of a working food production garden. It gives pleasure in so many different ways – visual, taste, smell, and touch. Very satisfying.

Without hesitation, food. I say food because the fruits are as rewarding as the veg, and I hope to add some chickens at some point.
I enjoy flowers, my wife enjoys them a lot, so we plant them and do enjoy them, but with a few exceptions (those in pots, a handful of others) I look at the flowers as the summer moves on and think to myself “what a waste of space, I could have put some tomatoes there).
With that said, I love daylillies,

It is amazing how something as simple as a row of peas can make me smile! Sunflowers make me feel like singing…God loves a garden and so do I! Kim

Oh, veggies, no doubt. I appreciate beautiful flowers, but a landscape that’s only “beautiful” leaves me a little cold. There’s a garden tour business in there somewhere.
