Rest? Not a Chance

September 8th, 2009

We had a busy busy weekend around here. If you’ve been reading my blog for a while you know that Mr Chiots and I own a business, it keeps us rather busy, but we don’t mind. This weekend we didn’t get to celebrate like most folks, we were working all weekend. On Sunday evening when we were driving home from a job I calculated that we only spent 7 hours at home and awake from Friday morning till very early Monday morning. We were up early and out late every night, this is what we were doing if you’d like to check it out.

We don’t mind being busy, but every now and then we get a little too busy for even for us. I’m looking forward to some time off soon!

What did you do this weekend, were you working, relaxing, spending time with family?

It was a busy weekend, but a weekend spent with family all the same. My parents were over, and generously helped me can quarts and quarts of applesauce and some peach sauce, taking on assistance in the chopping as well as the jar sterilizing. We also did research on acceptable flours under the new gluten-free requirements, which they have been handling better than I am! It seems there is always so much to do, the time flies by too quickly. For you even more so, as you were out of the home – that is really draining for long days.

I cleaned out the garage (it’s not done yet but really needed it), did the lawn, weeded, and spent as much time outdoors as possible!

Hubby had to work to cover for someone who’s baby was born early. So the kids and I played, cleaned and made LOTS of bread!

You are right, everyone needs downtime…some of us more than others! Kim

I spent the weekend, largely doing some garden and preserving chores as well as some significant (and needed) stocking up shopping. Next weekend I am traveling, so I used this weekend to get caught up on a few things.

Oh boy…we drove to PA and hung with family and also did a ton of winterizing work on my elderly aunt and uncle’s house. I sort of like that sort of work (though I am glad I don’t do it for a living!)
