Superbowl: Food or Football?

February 8th, 2010

We always get together with friends for the Superbowl. I’m not really that big on football, especially the NFL (personally I think it’s all rigged). For me it’s all about the food and friends. We usually plan out a special menu, last year we had a wild game theme with buffalo and venison mini burgers and other delicious sides. This year we’re doing fun snack food, like potato skins, chips, and these pretzel dogs.

I also made some of these chewy oatmeal cookies for Mr Chiots, he’s a big oatmeal cookie fan and I haven’t made them in a long long time! They were really great, perfectly chewy and full of nuts and raisins.

Of course there always ends up being too much food, but that’s what the Superbowl is all about. Food and Friends!

Did you watch the Superbowl? Is is about the football or the food for you, or something else?

    Mmm…everything looks delicious!

For me, the Super Bowl is neither about the game or the food, but rather the commercials!

I’ve probably only ever watched one Super Bowl game. This year Hubby watched it for a bit, but otherwise we were busy with a birthday party for my oldest.

…… hands down it’s about the food…. I don’t even know who played… nor do I care. I’m just there for the friends and food :)

We didn’t pay attention to the superbowl at all really (I didn’t even know who was playing until the this morning). We did get to go to the state fair yesterday though! We had hoped things would be a little less crowded with superbowl parties and such, but no— things were really crowded anyways!

They were good. They’d be great to make and freeze for quick meals. I’d boil them and lightly bake them before freezing.

It’s definitely all about the food for me. I love putting together a big spread and really pigging out! I’ve never seen pretzel dogs before–love the idea!

I don’t really watch much football except the Superbowl and it’s more for the food. I don’t really cheer for anyone.
