It’s Spring Indoors
Remember those forsythia branches I brought inside last week to force? They’re blooming and bringing a little bit of sunshine into my dining room. I thought I’d share some of that sunshine with you today.
I’ll be cutting some more branches today when I’m at my mom’s and maybe some pussy willow branches as well. It will still be a few months until these are blooming outside. Until then, I’ll be enjoying a little bit of spring inside. Who need Valentine’s Day roses when you’ve got these?
What helps bring brightness & happiness to your day?

Now I’m jealous. I’ll have to wade through our 3 ft. of snow to cut some forsythia and pussy willows. Hey, maybe my hubby will do it for me for valentine’s day!

They look great Susy! My forsythia was blooming outside last December, I should bring some in so they can bloom again. Well on the topic, I saw a post a few days ago that was showing a white forsythia. Blooming outside of course in lucky Vancouver! – http://gardentherapy.ca/ffforsythia/

Such a great idea! I’m now wondering if I shouldn’t “trim” my forsythias!

Really pretty shots, Susy. Right now, our happy lettuce sprouts are bringing brightness and happiness to my day. Every morning I walk out the the half wine barrel they’re growing in to tell root them on!

So pretty. It’s amazing what a little shot of spring color will do for your mood. My crew is disappointed that the sun has come out today and our snow is melting away. I think I’ll break out the crochet in a bit. :) Melissa

Lovely to see such cheery colour, I am not a fan of yellow, but these do certainly lift your mood and I can see why you’re enjoying them…
I may go trim some of my own forsythia now…

So lovely. It’s still too cold here to cut some branches to force. I’m praying for one day about 0 degrees Celsius. Anyway…they look lovely. I can hardly wait.

Oh man. I miss forsythia! I grew up with a long hedge of it (in connecticut) and it was my favorite thing. Me = jealous.

I think my biggest day brighteners are my boys! Their smiles and laughs cheer everyone we come into contact with. I do like your blossoms though.

A neighbor up the street has this huge forsythia bush. When my daughter was home (she’s in college now), I would drive by in the van, she would jump out and cut a bunch of branches and then jump back in the van. Yes, I stole forsythia branches.

This is beautiful! I bought a pot of daffodils to delude myself into thinking it was spring. This is even better, I need to find a forsythia bush around here!

I have plenty of forsythia and my place. I’ve been trying to propogate it so I can have shrubs to screen the road. You’ve inspired me to head out and bring some indoors to enjoy now!

Lovely pictures Suzy! We aren’t having Winter here in Oregon this year, and apparently are skipping right into early Spring. I just posted yesterday on my Pussy Willows. If you need an early dose of Spring, check it out! Happy Valentines Day!
