A Weekend Away
This past weekend I was in Cincinnati with some of my college girlfriends. The group of six become fast friends during the few months our freshman year of college back in 1994 and we’ve been getting together every year since.
It’s a weekend filled with eating, laughing, looking at photos, and staying up too late reminiscing about the good old days when we didn’t have a care in the world and were all living together in dorms and apartments.
We enjoyed a few of Cincinnati’s best like Skyline Chili and Graeter’s Ice Cream and Arthur’s.
It was a great time, it’s always nice to spend some time with old friends.
Do you have any yearly meet-up with old friends?

My yearly girlfriend get togethers started in March of 1977. My new husband forgot my birthday the year before and I decided the next year I would have my own party and I did. I countinue to host a birthday party week-end every year with the same *girls*. We’ve shared marriages, divorces, births, deaths, children, grandchildren and I will be the first of the group to share being a great-grandmother. There are 8 of us…friends forever…heart-sisters. Oh, by the way, we now meet at least every month…you get to do that when you get older…P.S. We’re 56 years old…

That’s so great. Hopefully when the kids are all grown a little more independent we’ll be able to get together more often. It was much easier when there weren’t 10 kids in the group.

i wouldn’t survive! we have 2 within a 1/2 hour of us, and we usually go about once a week (kids eat free night!) with all of our other friends who went to cbc at one time or another (or who are huge reds fans and grew up on it!)
