The 2011 Chiot’s Run Calendar is now Available

November 17th, 2010

I spent a few hours putting the final touches on my calendar yesterday. It was very hard to choice the photos from the thousands that I have taken this past year. Next year I may make a few different calendars, one with quotes, one with just edible harvests, etc. I’m also considering making one with zone 5 planting dates this year, for both spring and fall planting, let me know if you’re interested in this and I’ll try to invest the time in setting it up.

I want to thank all of you who purchase this calendar, I get a small amount from each sale and this helps me keep this blog ad-free and it helps me pay the bills associated with this blog.

A note from Mr. Chiots: Mrs. Chiots will not brag on herself so I will do it for her. She enjoys producing this blog for all of you almost as much as she enjoys gardening and cooking. She pours hours into taking and editing the photos, writing the posts, and approving and replying to comments. The results show it. Monthly ChiotsRun.com gets over 12,500 unique visitors, with over 33,000 page views using up about 100GB of bandwidth. Recently we surpassed 11,000 comments. That is a lot of work. Show your appreciation by purchasing this awesome calendar. In fact buy two, it will make a great Christmas gift. Thanks!

If you’re interested in buying a calendar Lulu sent me a coupon that you can use to get 40% off.

This is what you do:
Enter code CALENDARVIP305 at checkout (you have to enter paying info before coupon)
This will save you 40% off your calendar, up to $10
Offer ends 2/28/11

This coupon makes the large (13.5″ x 19″) calendar $22.48 with shipping and the small (11″ x 17″) calendar $15.98 with shipping. Here’s a look inside the calendar.

I don’t know if I have a favorite month, I love the June strawberries, the July chamomile and the August tomatoes.

What’s your favorite month? Would you be interested in a zone 5 planting calendar?

Beautiful calendar, we don’t have any really lovely Australian calendars like this only really touristy ones which are a bit lame so I always buy American produced ones. It is such a torment to be looking at pictures of snow in january when we are sweltering under insane summer heatwaves. I really love how all of your seasons in the northern hemisphere are so distinct and have their own personalities.

Yes, I really enjoy that as well. I grew up in South American right on the equator so we had hot season and hot and rainy season. I especially love the changing season, it seems like just about the time you’re getting ready for a change it happens.

I really like the calendar, and I think I might buy one or two next year. What would the zone 5 planting calendar look like? I think they’re beautiful calendars, and I’d love to see a vegetable/fruit/garden food calendar as well as an herb if you ever had any desire to branch out that way. I’d go for the food one for my parents and the herb for me.

    I love Dec. 2011.
That fat little cardinal — all fluffed up against the cold and surrounded by all the white… beautiful.

I’ll be buying 2 of these as soon as my client sends me his check. :-)

You know, although they’re all fantastic, there is just something about the shot and lighting produced from the July “Chamomile” that I just adore. It’s great too that each month’s photo has something to do with that season. Being a November baby, seeing pumpkins and a wonderful fall sale sign – it makes me proud of my month!

[and March, and September (go bee!), and October… ♥]

And I do have to gush, as I have done before – this is one of the blogs that I make my first stop every morning to brighten my day. I, or one, know what to ask for Christmas… hehe! And a food-related calendar is also of great interest! If that is going to be mixed in with the Zone 5 gardening directions, sign me up too! I’m on the high-side of Zone 6, I was told by my garden-centric mother that I should aim for Zone 5, so I follow that!

So I say: Yes, yes… and a resounding yes!

I just want to say congrats on a gorgeous calendar and, in response to Mr Chiots’ comment, I’m very glad that your site gets so much traffic and response- I have been quietly reading it for almost a year now, and although I keep looking around, this seems to be the blog that I return to day after day for inspiration and encouragement. It feeds my soul to know that there is a huge community out there hungering for this type of knowledge and experience- if only we could all get together somehow!
Thanks for your dedication and hard work; as Mr Chiots says, it SHOWS ( and thanks to him for supporting you!).

OH yes, thanks for noting this I’ll make sure to add them to the post above.

Small: 11″ x 17″ open (folds in half in the middle like a regular calendar)
Large: 13.5″ x 19″ has coils at the top so it’s one large sheet

I just ordered the small calendar. The coupon worked beautifully It knocked off $8.00, so the total cost including shipping was $15.98. I can’t wait to have it hanging on the wall near my desk.

As always when it comes to your photos I can’t pick a favourite! I don’t know how you managed to select these from all the thousands you’ve taken. I do know it would have taken an enormous amount of time, as Mr Chiots rightly reminds us. With such high traffic on your blog I find it even more touching that you take the time to reply to comments and enquiries. You’re like a new version of super girl – and you’re special talent? bending space and time surely to fit everything in!

I can’t pick a favorite month, they are all so lovely. I adore the little cardinal in December though.

I would buy a zone 5 gardening calender.

I am so excited! My mom LOVES calendars and I love giving her yours because they’re so special (and always have at least one really sweet little bird on them). She also happens to be in Zone 5 so I bet a planting calendar would be really interesting for her.
