Quote of the Day: Ralph Waldo Emmerson
For flowers that bloom about our feet;
For tender grass, so fresh, so sweet;
For song of bird, and hum of bee;
For all things fair we hear or see,
Father in heaven, we thank Thee!
~Ralph Waldo Emerson
I’m so thankful that I’m starting to see color in the garden again.
What are you thankful for today?

I’m right behind you. My garden hasn’t shown any color yet but it won’t be long before the display begins. For some reason the crocus didn’t make it through the winter and only two little flowers have given me pleasure in knowing that spring is at last here not only in an official equinox sense but in an actual weather sense as well. I’ve started scratching in the dirt and it’s close to planting the early stuff like lettuce, onion, radish, potato, and start getting the beds ready for planting the late stuff like tomato, green pepper, and cucumbers.
Have a colorful garden day.

Jealous! Although, I’m pretty sure Friday I saw a flower bud on one of my crocuses, so they should be blooming in no time.
I’m thankful that the snow is almost all gone and that I can finally start work in the garden!

I’m thankful for the rain shower we had last nite. Sleep is always so peaceful listening to rain coming down outside your window.

Thanks so much for permission to use your beautiful crocus picture on the Therapeutic Landscapes Network Blog today! At this time of year, crocuses pretty much sum up the healing garden: http://www.healinglandscapes.org/blog/2011/03/early-spring-a-good-time-for-planning.
