K is for _____________

August 13th, 2011

KNOWLEDGEABLE – I spend a lot of time reading & researching a wide variety of topics – as a result I know a lot about a lot of things. Most of this information is useless, but it give me a lot to think about.

KOOKY – silly, crazy, eccentric (of course interesting sounds better).

KEEN – I have a keen sense of smell and taste – which is good and bad. Good because I have a well developed palate, bad because I’m very sensitive to artificial flavors. My sense of smell is also very keen, Easter lilies for example are overpowering to me and give me a headache, as do lilacs and pretty much any other strongly scented item. Needless to say to perfume is used here at Chiot’s Run.

What words/phrases describe you that start with a K?

I don’t seem to have trouble with scented flowers. I do, however, start sneezing and coughing around people (men or women) who have way too much perfume on. My K’s are: Kivuli (our cat), Kenya and Knife. Emily

Kind is the first word that pops into my mind when Im searching for a K word.. I’ve always been a kind soul.. I used to be too kind but have learned to set boundaries in my old age..
Kooky also describes me as does knowledgeable. People call me all the time asking me for all sorts of things that can be readily accessed online but they seem to think I know everything so its easier to call me. Then I have to look it up sometimes..

This may be too personal, but I’m curious. Given your natural, organic lifestyle and what appears to be a distrust of the establishment, do you go to a natural doctor? I have such a problem with the medical industry and would love to connect with other people who take a more natural approach to health.

I use homeopathy most of the time for minor things and I have a Nurse Practitioner that I go to that I see as my Dr that encourages a more holistic approach. She was happy when I started drinking raw milk, she doesn’t prescribe new medications only ones that have been used for at least 50 years, using herbal remedies, etc.

That being said I am on the search for a homeopathic practitioner because I can really appreciate their whole person approach. I’d recommend reading: Impossible Cure: The Promise of Homeopathy if you’ve never read up on it.

Since we started following the Weston A Price kind of nourishing eating though, we haven’t had a need for going to the Doctor. I have found that following this keeps us in very good health.

knowledgable, that’s a good one and appeals to the researcher in me as well. I’m a bit behind with my post but better late then never eh!
