T is for ____________

August 24th, 2011

TOMATO – I love tomatoes. I remember eating tomatoes like apples when I was little. Now I at least slice them and add a little salt & freshly ground pepper. I will always have a nice collection of heirloom tomatoes growing in my garden.

THIRTY-SOMETHING – I really appreciate being in my thirties. It’s great to be older and wiser. Some people pine for youth, I’m happy with where I am in my life. I’m sure when I’m in my forties I’ll appreciate all the knowledge and wisdom I gained in my thirties.

TEA DRINKER – I love coffee, but I’m also an herbal tea drinker. I have a wide variety of herbal teas in my pantry, I especially love the ones from Mountain Rose Herbs. I especially love their Vita Blend tea which I drink almost daily for the health benefits.

THINKER – My mind is constantly active, as a result I’m a bit of an insomniac. It’s rare that my mind is working on some issue or problem.

TRAVEL – even though I enjoy the comfort of my own home and spend a lot of time there, I love get out to see the country. I enjoy traveling and we try to take a few trips each year. We’re currently on a mission to visit all the national parks in the U.S. So far we’ve checked 10 or so off of our list and are currently out West checking a few more off of the list.

THANKFUL – I try to remember to be thankful for the things that I have. I’m a big believer that taking time to think about the things your blessed with will help you be more content and not be pining for more things.

I used tomatoes too! We’ve been traveling more again lately, we used to travel a lot before goats and farm life though when my brother’s and sister and I were little. My parent’s and I are traveling a little more now again. My W is up.

I’d say that every description you chose would also apply to me, though I intend to drink tea more often than I do. Yesterday I included an herbal chai in a batch of peach jam, having some that should have been brewed by now.

Did you harvest your garlic yet? Did it appear to matter whether you soaked your cloves before planting them? I harvested my first crop of garlic (Chesnok Red, because that’s the kind I received from my CSA last year) at the beginning of August, and plan to plant at the beginning of September since I’m in zone 4.

Tomboy- even though Im 50 years old, I’d consider myself to still be a toyboy at heart. I work in a man’s environment with all guys so thats not difficult to imagine.

Thankful too is a word that I use daily. I have been very blessed in my life and I give thanks often.

Traveler as well.. I love to travel.. and then I love to come home. ;)

Truthful.. sometimes maybe a little bit too much so or too straight forward with it. I hate beating around the bush.

Trustworthy.. I can keep a secret like nobodies business.. and usually if I agree to something or give my word, its my bond. If there is a tiny tiny glimer of a reason why I might not be able to do something, then I wont agree to it and then cancel. I’d rather tell them possibly and then either fulfil or not.

Terrible speeler.. My mother was an English teacher so I learned how to read when I was 3, but as much as I love words, Im not the best speller in the world. There are about a dozen I really have problems with Thank God for online dictionaries.

Thankful…a great T. I do try to slow down and reflect on things. It is so easy to forget that I have a lot to be thankful for. My T’s are: Tiger Tail (cat), Tasmania (was an exchange student there), and Toads (for Mr. Toad). Emily
