Tiny Trailer Travels Part Two
After driving for many hours for 4 days, we arrived in Seattle on Saturday morning to meet some friends who flew out on Friday. We rented a house because it’s cheaper and more comfortable than staying in a hotel.
We spent the next week in Seattle seeing the sights. We visiting the Museum of Flight, took the ferry to Bainbridge Island, we went up on the Space Needle during the day and at night, rode the monorail, and of course we spent a few hours at Pike’s Place market.
We also took the time to travel to Mt Rainier and Olympic National park so we could stamp those in our National Park Passport.
And what vacation is complete without a visit to a few gardens? We were able to see Bloedel Reserve and Kubota Gardens while in Seattle (more on these two gardens later).
After a week in Seattle our friends caught a plane back to Ohio and Mr Chiots hitched up the camper and headed down into Oregon.
What kinds of sights do you like to see when you go to a big city on vacation?
I’ll be uploaded more images from our travels over the next week or so, so check my Flickr Photostream for more photos of each part of the trip.

Gorgeous photos! What a wonderful trip. Thanks for sharing.
We actually prefer to go into small towns and see the “quirky” stuff they have to offer. Such a genuine piece of American culture!

My brother and sister-in-law and their 2 daughter’s and another little one on it’s way just moved to Seattle last summer ’10! My Mom took my brother’s daughter from his 1st marriage to Seattle last December ’10 and flew back on New Year’s Day ’11. I like different kinds of sights on travels.

As little as possible!!! I *hate* cities. :) In Seattle though (just a hop, skip and jump from us) we’d see Pike’s Place Market and perhaps an underground tour and the historic stuff. Space needle – no thanks. Too many people with too few escape routes.

Wow, I grew up five minutes from Kubota Gardens. I didn’t realize they were so famous! I thought it was just kind of our neighborhood park. My mom and I used to go there several times a week after school … they are so beautiful and gave me such a feeling of peace.
Sure was a blast of nostalgia seeing your pictures!

I just got back from a trip to Seattle — loved biking Bainbridge Island, plus all the flowers at the Pike Place Market. Great photos.
