2012 Chiot’s Run Calendar

November 4th, 2011

I started working on my calendar last week hoping to have it up on November first. That didn’t happen, but I did get it up earlier than last year! It’s always tough choosing photos for each month, narrowing it down, deciding what direction to take, edible, flowers, etc. I’ve toyed with the idea of making a few different calendars, one featuring edible gardening, one featuring flowers & other things – maybe next year. For this year I’ll stick to the usual mix. Here’s the 2012 Chiot’s Run Calendar:

I want to thank all of you who purchase this calendar, I get a small amount from each sale and this helps me keep this blog ad-free and it helps me pay the bills associated with this blog. Once again it’s available in Small and Large:

Small: 11″ x 17″ open (folds in half in the middle like a regular calendar)

Large Calendar: 13.5″ x 19″ has coils at the top so it’s one continuos sheet

I also revised my Quote Calendar for 2012 as well, it’s also available in Small and Large.

Lulu just sent me a coupon that should get you 15% off the calendar. Use coupon code: NINCAL for 15% 1-9 calendars and code: TENCAL for 20% off 10 or more calendars. Coupon expires December 18, 2011. See Lulu homepage for details.

As hard as it is to narrow down photos for the calendar each year, I always seem to have one photo that’s my favorite from the season. This year was no different, December was my favorite, there’s just something wonderful about the sunlight in that photo that I really love! This year however, I’m especially fond of January and May, there’s just something about those two photos I really love!

What’s your favorite month?

Very excited to see the new calendar. It looks great! Thank you, it is something I enjoy year round! It’s almost hard to choose a favorite month, but I think the maple syrup tugs at my heart! Nice work Susy.

Since finding your site a bit over a year ago, it has become one of the things that start off my mornings, along with the first cuppa. You usually have something interesting to read and information I can use. But the best part is your photos. They are so beautiful and often call attention to details not always noticed otherwise. Although all your 2012 calendar photos are lovely, I am particularly taken with November’s acorn. The detail is, for me, quite striking. Thanks for including it this morning.

That little acorn was sitting on our back deck one morning covered in frost. I loved it and had to get a photo, it’s one of my favorites!

November. I have a special love for acorns, and that one is so cute, and a little sad all by itself.

I got my first pair of Ethel gloves for my birthday yesterday! Can’t wait to try them out today.

I think they are all stunning. I especially love June and December. It must have been so difficult for you to choose from the thousands of photos you take. Do you you use your photos to decorate your house with as well?

Funny thing is I always have plans to get a few canvases printed of some of my photos but I have yet to do so. My calendar is the only place I have some of my photos showing in the house. I do have plans of eventually getting a few canvases done of some of my favorites. Someday I also have plans to have a little store to sell some of them, and maybe some cards and prints – but that seems to always get put on the back burner when other things come up.

    Suzy,
Your photos are always so beautiful. I do like the January picture a lot. But if I were to pick a favorite I’d say September. I love the look of unpainted picket fences, they are so rustic!!

Wonderful photos in your calendar, especially the one with the raindrops.

Very nice! I like the warm months but I also enjoy my b-day month-December. I’m making sort of a calendar for my Grandma which includes some of her great grandchildren and grandchildren scattered through out the months.

They are all so beautiful, but February is definitely my favorite. We dream of tapping our very own maple trees someday.

Looks beautiful! My fav pic is the lightning bug…as a California-native I’m thrilled annually by the lightning bugs (or butt-lighters as my son affectionately refers to them) and their evening dance.
