Distractions
Every now and them I’m doing something and then I get distracted by something interesting. Usually it’s something I want to get a photo of at that exact moment because the light is just perfect. Yesterday I walked by a window and saw the sun lighting up this little spiderweb on the front porch. I dropped whatever it was I was doing, grabbed my camera.
I proceeded to walk around the gardens to get a few more photos since everything is lush and beautiful and I want to document this year in my garden well. When I came back inside I couldn’t remember what it was I was doing, so I moved on to something else on my to-do list. This happens to me all the time, I find myself often stopping in mid track, dropping whatever it is I’m carrying, and either grabbing my camera or just looking closely at something I see or listening keenly to something I hear. I’m definitely easily distracted!
Do you find it easy to stay on task or do you get easily distracted?

I think you’re just appreciating moments as they come up. I do the same thing. Things like spider webs are not noticed by most people. I love seeing the webs on neighbors’ mailboxes when I go for my daily walk. They are fascinating!

OHHHH, Shiny! That is pretty much how I go around life too! :)
It’s a wonder I get anything done….

Getting distracted with the camera is fun. I keep pretty good lists that allow me to drop what I’m doing and be in the moment. Love that you’re documenting the garden – comparing May & July pictures is always so much fun!

I think a gardener that isn’t easily distracted isn’t enjoying their garden’s enough!!!
This happens to me all of the time:
Walk around outside, gloves on, camera in hand. Take photos of the [finally! after three yars!] clematis in bloom. Ooh! the new growth on the lysimachia is a bit pinkish! … ooh! I see buds on my Dianthus! Ooh! Is that a Sphinx Moth pupa?
Wait…
Why am I holding onto a pair of pruners…. ???

I’m very easily distracted, luckily I get about as much done with my distractions as I do with my to do list so at least I’m being somewhat productive!

…Oh girl, distracted. I try, seriously I do, to stay on task but that beautiful spider web up there? Distraction. Red Tail Hawks flying overhead as I work in the garden? Distraction. Cats visiting me as I pull weeds? Distraction. I can be going along then suddenly it’s like, “oh look, a chicken!”. Seriously. ;o)
…So glad to hear you’re easily distracted too. I really dunno if it should be called “being easily distracted” or captivated by the finer things in life. I’ll take the latter. *giggle*
…Enjoy your day!
…Blessings :o)
