Friday Favorite: Us

June 1st, 2012

Mr Chiots and I celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary earlier this week. The funny thing is that we both completely missed it and realized it the next day. We’re not really into celebrating birthdays and anniversaries so it wasn’t a big deal: there’s plenty of fun throughout the year to make up for it. In our 14 years of marriage we’ve lived in 4 different places, the last 10 years here at Chiot’s Run.

We’ve been from sea to shining sea, we’ve watched sunrises and sunsets, laughed, cried and simply enjoyed life. Most of all we have lot of great fun here at Chiot’s Run. Since we both work from home, we’re here 24/7 together, laughing, joking, and loving it – definitely two peas in a pod!

We have big dreams of places we’ll want go and things we want to do, we’re most excited about driving to Alaska someday. Here’s to many more wonderful years and lots of new adventures along the way!

What’s one place you want to go that you haven’t made it to yet?

Happy anniversary! We almost forgot ours a couple of years ago too, only remembering around 8 p.m. in time to say a casual, “Hey, happy anniversary,” to each other.

I’ve always wanted to go to England. If I ever make it there, it will be very far in the future.

How cute are you two?! What a wonderful way to spend time together, traveling.

I want to go to the New England states and Williamsburg, VA. Gotta get moved a bit further north first I suppose.

    Best Friends!!! Love the pic!

Congratulations on 14 wonderful years together! I’m working on 26 years with my best friend. (It keeps getting better.)

We’ve done lots of traveling in the US. Hope to live a part-time RV life someday, but we’ve never been to Europe. Would love to spend a Summer there bopping around.

    My secret wish? China.

    Happy Anniversary :)

I have never been to the US, would love too see New England and have a hankering to see Montana!
But one place I would love to see is Alaska, having landed 4 times at the airport for refuelling in different seasons; I would love to explore the country.

I’ve wanted to visit Egypt for as long as I can remember. Alexandria, Cairo, the Valley of the Kings, the Nile…just the thought makes me tingle with excitement!

Congrats!! You’re a lovely couple. I consider myself a non celebrant.I’m just not into holidays. I love all the daily stuff too much!!! I like that you are so involved in your day to day fun (but hard work) activities that you forgot your anniversary!! Love your blog.

Happy Anniversary. Working on 29 yrs. here. You both work from home, I’d love to be able to do that. May I ask what type of work you do from home? Just curious as I’d love to have income but still be able to garden and work on our homestead. Thanks so much for posting.

I’m sorry, would like to go many places with hiking in the mou ntains and be able to collect herbals and such. I’m southwest of Findlay, Ohio. What is the vicinity you’re in? Sounds like you have a wonderful place. Maybe we could meet sometime in person. Hope you have many more great years together.

Congratulations you two! Has it been 14 years already? Time does fly with you’re with your honey. We’ve been together for 40 years – what an adventure!

Our dream for most of 40 years has been to go to Alaska. Goal has been to drive up – want to see sights all along the way. Another goal is Historic Williamsburg. We’re hoping ro ge there this fall or next.

    Again, congratulations!

As everyone else has said too, happy anniversary :)

It’s 10 years for me & my chap this year – we should probably celebrate but will probably forget ;) We’re not into birthdays or that sort of thing either – every day is a special day for us :)

As for places to visit, Alaska is very much up there for me too but only if we can go for a good while, not just one of our usual blink-and-miss-it short trips. At the other end of the wilderness/mega-city scale, I’d like to visit Manhattan but I think I’d only be able to manage a few days there before going stir crazy!

    Happy anniversary Brian and Susy!

I’m with you – Alaska is my top place to see that I haven’t been to yet. I also want to spend LOTS more time in the Rocky Mountains and the southwest.

I always love seeing posts like this from you. It’s such a wonderful life you two lead!
If only my boyfriend and I had the [financial…] freedom to be able to travel like that, we would! I am definitely more of the traveller than he, since I’ve lived overseas in Europe and travelled by car through most of the east coast of North America [Canada all the way down to Florida! :D] But yes, I agree with you.

    Alaska. ♥

…Alaska. Oh, and Vermont. Oh, and um, Montana. And while we’re at it, Wyoming, Maine, Oregon, Washington, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Ohio. For now. ;o)

…Have a great day you two!

    …Blessings :o)

My husband and I have been married 27 years – even though we’re not nearly as compatible as you two seem to be >:o

It always makes me smile to see a picture of the two of you smiling. God bless you both.
