Books, Pizza and some ZZZZZ’s

September 29th, 2012

Yesterday we finally made it into Belfast and got a library card! We only get one library card and keep all our books on it because it makes things easier to manage. While there, I got 7 books! It certainly feels good to have lots of reading material on the coffee table. You can see what I got via my “What I’m Reading” in the sidebar (I’m sure you’ve noticed it hasn’t changed much in the last month). We also grabbed some pizza for supper to try out the local pizza shop.

I’m certainly looking forward to evenings of reading. Hopefully I can stay awake, this past week we’ve been getting tired early so we’ve been going to bed early (around 9). We’ve still been waking up at our normal time of 6 a.m. I think we’re just tired from everything that’s been going on over the past couple months. One of these days we can get back to our normal 10:30/11:00 bedtime so I can get some reading in before bed!

What’s your normal time to go to bed & get up in the morning?

Congrats on getting your library card. I hope you have a good resource for books. How exciting discovering all those little things that make your town special.
I’m usually up before the sun and hit the hay around 10. If I get a nap in, it’s 10:30.
    Happy reading!

I read “Restoring American Gardens” for my work at the Museum. So much good information in there!

That looks like an Alexia’s pizza. Best on the coast of Maine.
Oh dear, apparently no one has told you the normal bedtime in rural Maine is 9 and get up time is 5-5:30. LOL

It was Alexia’s pizza and was pretty good. In Ohio there’s a pizza joint on every corner almost, so you can choose exactly what kind of pizza you want. Around here pickins are slim. At least this pizza was pretty good!

We were talking about how we’re going to start going to bed earlier & getting up earlier now that we’re here. We like to make use of as much daylight as we can.

I find that even going from PA to ME my bedtime changes as dawn and dusk get earlier and earlier. I imagine the change from Ohio is much worse. Embrace your bedtime and get up earlier instead! It’s the best time of the day.

These days, my bedtime is around 10:30 & I get up at 5… Once the clocks change back, I’ll go to bed a few minutes earlier.. 9:30-10.00.
Thats on the weekdays anyways.. weekends I always stay up later 11:20-12:00 and sleep till 8 or 9. Guess Im trying to make up for those fewer workday hours I need but dont get.

Hooray for the library! We *love* our new library, for the focus on FFA manuals & survival skill type books that we didn’t have in the city. There was more emphesis on latest celebrity and self help books in the city it seems. :)

So how was the pizza? Looks delicious!

My sleeping habits have really changed since we moved, and we only moved 18 miles away. :) Waking around 5:30am (get my reading books and blog time in then) and in bed at 9pm (falling asleep playing some games on my phone and checking email from the day.)

    I’m in bed between 9 & 10 and up between 6 & 7 the next morning.

One of my favorite things about moving somewhere is checking out the library–hope your’s is a good one!

We go to bed around 8:30-9:00 and I’m up daily by 6:00. My husband is a logger so he has to start work at daylight, which makes summer mornings tough (he gets up as early as 2:30 in the height of summer). During the winter he “sleeps in” until 4:30-5:00, depending on how close his job is from home, which messes with my sleep because I get my best sleep after he leaves. :)

Thanks to the magic of the meds I’m on, I’m up at 7am every day and in bed by 11 on days that I don’t take a nap. It is basically the best side effect ever.

We tend to be in bed between 9:30 and 10:30, depending on what we’re doing and what day of the week it is. Up at 5:30 during the week, 6:30 or 7 on weekends. It’d be later to bed and later up in mornings but the kids bus picks them up at 7am.

I love one of the books under the pizza box–I just bought American Woodland Garden. We live in a subdivision, but our home is in the midst of a forest, backing up to a river. For years, I’ve cursed our shady property–but I’m finally coming to peace with the fact that I’ll never have a David Austen rose garden. Instead, I’ve been researching how and what to add to our woodland. It’s really time to embrace what we have and enjoy the nature in our backyard.

I, sadly, sleep very little. And it makes me cranky. I’m usually in bed at 11, reading til 1 (or later, if it’s a bad night), and up at 6 to get the kids off to school. I miss sleeping!

I love a quote I saw: All you need for happiness is a library card and a garden. So true.

    Enjoy your books!
