Warm & Toasty
AH, being warm & cozy is something I really enjoy. Perhaps that’s why I appreciate a cup of hot coffee or tea so much. For many years, I’ve been saying I needed to get a pair of flannel lined jeans. I spend a lot of time outside during the fall/winter/spring seasons, and regular jeans just aren’t warm enough sometimes.
A pair has never been in my dresser, because I’m so incredibly picky about how my clothes fit. I just found a pair of prAna flannel lined jeans. Now I’m warm & toasty during my morning chores, heading out to the chicken coop and the duck house doesn’t involve cold legs.
The great thing about these jeans is that they’re not too hot to wear around the house either. I like them so much, I bought another pair. I’ll be wearing these 6 months out of the year!
Do you have a favorite warm & toasty piece of clothing?

I have one long-sleeved shirt that is my favorite and is so worn you can almost see through parts of it. It’s super-soft and I won’t give it up until it falls apart!
I’ve wanted a pair of flannel jeans for a while now. What a treat!

I bought my first pair of flannel-lined jeans last month. Best investment I ever made! I’ll definitely be wearing them this morning when I head outside to shovel!

My flannel shirt! I feel like I am wearing pajamas when I have it on. Boy, are you going to need those jeans the next few days. Stay warm.

I wear nothing but flannel lined jeans in the winter. I have three pairs and don’t know what I’d do without them. And, I’m not so crazy about the way they fit, so I’ll have to check out the brand you got.
I also have a wonderful cable knit fisherman’s sweater that my grandmother made for me, but it’s really too warm to wear inside. It feels so nice when I slip it on though – so many good memories.
You are missing one big storm – snow drifts up to the waist, and still coming down… Mr. Chiots would be so excited now that he has his new tractor!

I bought myself some flannel lined pants last year and loved them so much that I bought another pair at the end of the season. I am so cold natured that it is a mystery to me that I waited so long. In fact it was only with my husband’s insistence that I bought them. I think he was fatigued with my endless complaining of being cold. I also have several heavy wool sweaters that I live in throughout the winter….. one in particular that I would be lost without. It is wonderfully broken in:)

No flannel lined for me, but I too love my smartwool socks!
How much snow up there? Kennebunk is at about 26″ as of 9am.

Susy, no flannel lined pants for me. I am a long insulated underwear kind of guy. Works for me. The last couple years I haven’t needed extra warmth too much. We have had some what milder winters than usual. When the day time temperatures hover in the 40s for highs in February, it’s truly a treat.
I hope you weather your first major storm in Maine OK. Have a great flannel clothes day.

I have both flannel lined jeans and fleece lined jeans from Cabela’s that I really like. I thought they’d be bulky and restrict movement but they don’t. The fleece ones keep me warm without getting sweaty to my surprise. The more you wear and wash, the softer and more comfy they get. Much better than dealing with long underwear and jeans, especially when nature calls!

I can be found in my grey sweater uggs November-March. They are comfy & keep my toes warm on the coldest nights.

It’s good to be warm. Love those photos of your new jeans. It’s chilly here today, and there are winter days when I could use a pair. So much of our winter though is simply coolish. Enjoy the warmth. I’m having tea myself.~~Dee

I have those exact same PRANA flannel lined jeans. I got them on sale at an REI last winter at the end of the season and they are SO comfortable, I wore them in the summer. The North Carolina summer. Just sayin. :) When it’s really cold, I wear knee length yoga pants underneath and I’m in heaven. Not that we know what real cold is in North Carolina.

Are you familiar with Duluth Trading Company (Men & Womens) and their jeans?
I have one pair of their jeans which are wonderful.. they have the right about of stretch, room, etc.. I have a lot of their tops.. They’re some of my favorites..
I buy my outdoor working guys the firehose lined jeans and they wont wear anything else for work…
Excellent company and excellent clothing if you’re looking for tough, wear resistant work clothes.

My beloved gave me one of his Pendelton wool shirts that was slightly small on him (after the one I’ve been wearing since I bought it used in 1981 finally disintegrated). I’ve been wearing it for weeks. Also, I’m a huge fan of fingerless gloves — my hands get colder than the rest of me. No sense heating a whole room for that — I don’t like lined jeans because they feel unbearably bulky to me … oh, and I scored some great wool socks at Costco this fall — smartwool-esque. Cozy.

I tend to murder my pants at some point – usually getting into the tractor after having snagged them on a fence on the hop over – so the $ for flannel lined jeans has kept me from getting some. You’re right though – jeans can be way too cold. So I’ve gotten in the habit of wearing flannel pjs under my jeans.
