Cultivate Simple 23: Permaculture, Beyond the Basics
Bill & Lauren Errickson from Singing Nettle Farm & Conscious Elements Permaculture talk about permaculture, beyond the basics from the The Permaculture Process Podcast. Like them on facebook if you’d like to keep up with what they’re doing.
From Mr. Chiots – Some of the things that Bill & Lauren mentioned reminded me of an episode of The Permaculture Podcast: An Introduction to Nutrient Dense Farming with Mary Johnson If you want to hear more, check it out.

Brian,,,Susy~you may have heard of this gentleman…..probably have…but if not….Paul Gautschi’s, http://backtoedenfilm.com/
He has been at permaculture for a long time…..He IS very enthusiastic….but sincere….and tremendously successful at this approach.
Thank you to Bill and Lauren for all the info and to you two for sharing the interview:)

I heard that, Brian. Hi back at’cha! :>)
I usually listen on Monday evening but was so excited to hear from Bill and Lauren that I listened during my commute this morning. Another great episode, and so very timely as I spent the weekend with notebook, podcast #17 and the Gaia’s Garden book, laying out my long-term permaculture plan for the homestead. The conversion will be done in little tiny bites as time and resources allow but out 70 degree days were soooo inspiring. And half the work is in developing the plan, eh?
The raised beds are sporting spring veggie seedlings, blossoming strawberry plants and the remnants of the winter garden kale, rainbow chard, and one last kohlrabi (now enormous and gone to seed but so fun to look at). For supper we had salad of fresh lettuces and carrots from the garden and the cabbage that went in with our corned beef was homegrown too!
Most of what I am reaping is All Your Fault, Susy. You inspired me several years ago and I’m so appreciative.

Because of Cultivate Simple, I’m actually looking forward to Monday mornings. :)
Another great episode. Lots to think about, here in my suburban city neighborhood.

Ditto Melanie “From CaliFORnia” ;) Suzy & Brian, your efforts are presented honestly and in simple terms– I began my journey a few years back and have relied on your research and writing (and now podcast) daily.
My husband is in lands planning and design and is very anti-grass :D We have a small city dweller footprint, but as my Mom says, we make it sound like we are growing acres of food.
Bill & Lauren were easy to understand and I learned so much more about having a vision and implementing changes.
Thank you– someday I hope to put financial support with my comments :) Fingers crossed!–Penny
