Quote of the Day: Rainy Days

June 9th, 2013

“God made rainy days so gardeners could get housework done.” – author unkown

cleaning
So very true, yesterday morning I swept and cleaned and polished and mopped but that wasn’t enough.
freshly baked bread
spring grass butter
I also baked eight sourdough boules and make a few pounds of butter. But then the sun came out again and back out into the garden I went and the dishes remained unwashed…

Do you ever put off inside chores until a rainy day so you can spend all the nice days in the garden?

I frequently find a good reason to put off inside chores to have more outside time. Unfortunately, my house tells the story of weeks of neglect.

Ha. My house would be a pig pen if I waited for rain.

How funny…..I was contemplating in the loo as people are prone to do;) and by coincidence happened to look up from the book I was reading, “The Good Earth” and down at my floor and thought…..you know…..I really should try to make the effort to stay inside at least long enough to sweep….the good earth and whatever else from my floors… Oh well…..there will be time enough…. when it rains.
