Friday Favorite: Actual Fridays

January 17th, 2014

Someone pointed out that my Friday Favorite post yesterday was actually posted on Thurs.  For some reason I thought it was Friday, no doubt all the late nights recently have been catching up with me.  Or perhaps it’s my fault for not making/ordering a Chiot’s Run calendar this year!

Now that Mr Chiots and I have quit filming wedding, Fridays actually mean a weekend is coming up. Even though we often still work on the weekends, we’ve been trying hard to take time off on both Saturday and Sunday. It’s rather nice now that Fridays mean there will be a few days off!

Do you ever get mixed about which day it is?

I thought yesterday was Wednesday. By the way, was Mr. Chiots at the Belfast Curling center when Channel 2 was there. I thought I saw him in the background.

He might have been, he doesn’t remember seeing them, but you never know…

I thought Tuesday was Thursday and actually cried when the kids corrected me. I am in such need of a good nights sleep.

Definitely…for instance when I thought yesterday was Friday. We are visiting my folks out of state and since it was “Friday”, I was surprised we weren’t meeting up with their friends at the grocery store. Vacations, lack of sleep, holidays, stressful schedules with too many field trips in one week where one would encounter lots of small talk….all seem to drive me mad to the point of not knowing what day it is.

Susy, yeah, try retirement for not knowing what day it is. Being retired every day is the same. If it weren’t for Bradley and a school schedule, I’d be in real trouble. Every morning when I wake up, the first thing is to figure out what day it is and what has to be done. Bill Gates and his MSN calendar is a wonderful thing for this old geezer. Verizon alarm clock is another great tool to keep me on task during the day. Just because I know that something is scheduled for 2pm doesn’t mean I’m going to remember it at 2pm. I’d be a wining mess without my phone reminders.

I think that falling asleep fast without a care is just a guy thing. Not very many men that I know have trouble falling asleep at night. My wife used to get so irritated at how quick I could be snoring away when she was still fussing about the activities of the day and nesting in getting ready to sleep.

    Have a great Friday today.

I get confused about the days all the time. Constant head pain has really messed with my state of mind. I never know if I’m coming or going or where I’m supposed to be or where I just was. Sigh…

Since I work in education, I get summers off. I usually spend it in the garden, totally disconnected from scheduled meal times and days of the week. Such a blissful blur of natural rythms and naps under the apple tree.

I agree with Nebraska Dave – retirement has messed with my sense of time a bit. But my husband still works 8-4 five days a week, so I have the rhythm of making his breakfast, packing his lunch, and knowing that it’s a weekday because he’s gone. WHICH weekday is another matter. :)

I am floundering without your calendar!!! I didn’t order a different one, well I guess because I was busy at Christmas and didn’t see anything that came close to yours! I finally printed off a generic calendar page for January, but really it’s just not the same!!
    It’s not too late Susy!
