AH…..The Sun

April 14th, 2014

I’m soaking it up, I love the sun this time of year, it’s not quite as hot as it is in the heat of the summer.
Soaking up the Sun
I try to spend some time outside every day to soak up some vitamin D.

How’s the sun in your garden, is it still nice or is it starting to get hot?

The snow is melting fast now, less than a foot left. I’m more than ready to have the sun warming the soil.

It’s been in the mid 80’s lately. Mornings are still pleasant in the 60’s, so I try to get out into the garden early in the day. Enjoy the sunshine!

Susy, ha, we’d be soaking up the snow if I was setting outside this morning. Yup, that’s right. It rained all day yesterday (1 inch) with wind gusts up to 50 MPH. Then in the evening the temperature dropped into the 20s and it snowed (1.5 inches). I think the Farmer’s Almanac was right with cold and wet for this Spring. I covered the cabbages once again in hopes to save them from the nasty weather but I suspect that the onions could be toast again. I still have enough for one last round then I’ll have to resort to sets from the local nursery. What a crazy year this has been.

It looks like all your snow has melted and soaking up the sun is just thing to drive away those winter blues.

Have a great Maine sun soaking day.

We’ve been bumping around 80F a couple of days already and some folks would consider that hot but I think that’s just warming up! I’m so ready for warm weather this year.

Yesterday was -1C, with a skiff of snow on the ground. Today is bright and sunny and should get on the plus side. I can handle the cooler temperatures but we have had so much wind it makes it hard to be outside!

We’ve gotten off easy here on the West Coast. Mostly sunny this week with some rain later on. Beautiful day in the 60’s today. Lots of yard work to do!
