Friday Favorite: Bitter Lemon
Ahhhh, there’s nothing like a refreshing beverage when you’ve been working in the garden on a hot day. When I was younger I used to LOVE drinking Bitter Lemon. Recently I rediscovered this gem.
I don’t drink soda very often, when I do it’s usually this or tonic water. It’s refreshing but not too sweet and with the slightest hint of bitterness, even better with a piece of fresh lemon squeezed into it. I also love this brand as it’s not made with HFCS and with real botanicals.
What’s your favorite refreshing beverage when you’ve been working in the garden on a hot day?
Water with ginger and maybe a chunk of pineapple or watermelon and a splash of seltzer if there is any on tap. I always keep a carafe of ginger infused water in the fridge and I just add the fruit or herbs that I want.

Without a doubt, water kefir lemonade. Probably similar to your bottled drink above. Natural all the way, not very sweet, slight natural carbonation. I always use lemon when making water kefir and then add a 2nd fruit flavoring also. Right now I am using a home made blackberry juice from berries we picked and froze last year. We just used up our own personal supply of Scarlet Goumi juice made from this year’s crop.

Does your tonic water come with or without sugar? I can’t find any without.
