Sending Holiday Cheer
I love Christmas card, I love to get them and I love to send them. We have yet to get our photos taken for our personal cards, but I’ve been working hard on the Christmas cards I mail out for work. I usually mail out around 500 for that and roughly 100 for ourselves personally. The result is that I spend a lot of time during the month of December working on them.
This year I printed our cards for work, I found a sweet little nativity stamp on Esty to use on them. I took them to Ohio and my nieces helped me fold them and stuff them into envelopes. All I have left to do is address and stamp them and then I move on to our personal cards. I’m waiting for a snow so I can take the photo I’ve been planning. My mailbox is starting to fill up with cards from family and friends as well. I’m always happy to see how much everyone’s kids have grown, Christmas cards are one of the beautiful things about the holiday season!
Do you send out cards to family & friends? Do you enjoy receiving cards?

Susy, many years ago when I first became an avid reader and commenter of your blog you offered to send one of your Christmas cards to any one that requested one. I requested and received a most beautiful card from you so I know your cards are very special to receive. I also won one of your calendars by commenting on a post that you used to produce each year and was so impressed that I bought one the next year which sadly was the last year that you made calendars. Gosh, it’s been a long time since I became interested in your amazing blog. The year and a half of hearing Brian’s crazy antics and your heart warming laugh in your podcasts were great. Cleaning up the kitchen on Mondays just haven’t been the same since you quit. I have learned that life never stays the same and change continues each day whether I want it to or not. Your influence over the years has been tremendously positive. Thank you for being so faithful in blogging and so open with your sharing of all things in your life. For being such an introverted person, you have learned well how to survive in an extroverted world.
Have a great Christmas card sending/receiving day.

Yes, I enjoy sending and receiving holiday cards! I love the tradition and seeing what my friends and family have been up to over the year (for those that actually include a note :).
I’m all about handwritten correspondence!

My realization the past few days has been that social media and all of our new methods of communication are an affirmation that we have built this giant computer with monster sized data bases and the answer all along was that your success as a human being is based on sending a card with personal note that comes from your heart. No how much you spend there is no replacement for a hi at the right moment and a hug.

Wow, I just read Dave’s comment, and can echo every word. “What he said!”
I don’t comment very often, but I read every day, and am so grateful for your interesting tips and tidbits – thanks for sharing parts of your life with us.

We’ve been working on our Christmas cards in stages–this morning, ironically was stamping. Glory be, was that ever an exercise in patience (my boys were “helping”)–I’m afraid I didn’t pass that test. I kept telling myself that it’s not important if they’re perfect, it’s more important that they learn the importance of taking the time to connect with other people.
I’m raising my hand to agree with Nebraska Dave and Debbie B above–I always appreciate your positive outlook and your willingness to share :)
The stamp and cards you showed above are lovely, as is the Etsy shop–so thanks for sharing that, too–they seem like they have stamps that my boys could handle with ease!
