Quote of the Day: Leo Tolstoy

May 3rd, 2015

“Meanwhile spring came on, beautiful and kindly, without the delays and trattorias of spring, – one of those rare springs in which plants, beasts, and man rejoice alike.”

Leo Tolstoy in Anna Karanina

The last couple days have been perfect, simply perfect. I’ve been working outside trying to get as much done as I can. Soon enough the mosquitoes and the black flies will be out making it a little less enjoyable to work in the garden. Even though it was long in coming, this spring has been heavenly so far.

Oh, what a joy you have there with your Spring time! Enjoy! Greetings from Finland where the weather changes every other day from beautiful Spring into something dreadful – but at the same time, the mosquitos and black flies are hiding away a bit longer.

    Thank you for your blog!

I love the flowers growing in the path! I have a similar path in my front yard garden, I might have to plant my own “volunteer” blooms out there :)

I love your paths! What do you use for weed killer in your mulched areas? It seems like here in Virginia no matter how much mulch we put down, we end up with tons of grass and weeds popping through :/
