Quote of the Day: Michael Nolan
“There are many things in life that will catch your eye, but only a few will catch your heart…pursue those.”
~ Michael Nolan
This time of year I’m reminded of why I love gardening so much. It clears the mind, it fills the heart, it restores the spirit. This past winter I spent a lot of time reading novels instead of gardening books, while I enjoyed them, they don’t feed my heart like dreaming about gardens does.
What catches your heart?

Susy, I would have to agree that garden are the best for soothing my soul. The sounds, the smells, the sights are all nature therapy for me. During the winters months this last year I watched British garden allotment YouTube videos. It’s fun to see how other places like to garden. The British are very meticulous about garden plots. Very little motorized machines are used on the allotments for the videos that I watched. They all had sheds with, of course, gas fired tea kettles for periodical tea breaks. After watching the videos all winter I acquired an urge to start drinking tea. :-)
It’s getting really close to the time for warm weather planting here. May 15th is the last frost day here but last year we got a major killing frost a week after that so I’m skeptical about putting plants out too early. My plan is to start setting out a couple each day until the entire 20 tomato plants are planted. So if a killing frost should come, I won’t be caught like last year with no back up plan.
Have a great spirit restoring day in the garden.
