GRLT Garden Tour #1

July 14th, 2015

On Sunday, Mr Chiots and I went to the George River Land Trust  Tour. It was phenomenal, as it was last year as well. The first garden I’ll show you is right on the ocean and quite lovely. The house is beautiful, the gardens were lovely even though they weren’t quite in the style that I would do for myself.

It was nice to see vegetables in a lot of the gardens that we toured. The tiered vegetable garden in this space was really interesting and such a modern take on the potager.

The view from this garden was fantastic. I’m not sure I’d get much gardening done with this chair in this place.

What’s your favorite part of this garden?

That house is gorgeous! I love it! The garden….oh, makes me wish mine was in better condition.

I’m with you Susy, I’d be parked in that chair quite a bit so I have to say my favorite part of that garden is the view. And what a beautiful house! Loved that sedum “centerpiece” :)

Susy, I suspect my favorite place would be where the veggies are but I have to agree with Chris the view would be a work stopper. It’s always inspiring to tour a well groomed garden but mine will never look that good. One lone gardener can never compete with a crew of gardeners. I like gardeners that blog about the good, the bad, and the ugly. Right now my garden would be in the categories of good and ugly depending on the section of the garden your in.

Have a great garden tour day.

I just loved the sedum centerpiece running down the middle of the table. And I usually really don’t like sedums, but these ones were so very nice! I wonder if they survive the winter outside, or need to be moved into the house.
