Friday Favorite: Sitting
This time of year I’m keenly aware that the gardening season is just right around the corner. That means I spend as much as possible sitting, in the evening, in the morning, in the afternoon.
Most often in my favorite chair, reading a book, sewing, crocheting, or just enjoying a bit of rest. Enjoying what winter means for the gardener, a chance to sit down, for more than a moment.
Are you savoring rest this season?

Susy, I used to read a lot during the Winter months but now my focus is short so thank goodness for YouTube gardening videos. There’s not a lot of time for relaxing in the Winter in my household. Eleven year old boys have many activities in and out of school. So there’s always some thing happening in the household. Yesterday, I had my first fresh salad of the year. The lettuce and radish soil sprouts in the basement were ready for harvest. The tender shoots were about four to six inches long. They were very tasty. I hope to get more today. I’m definitely expanding soil sprouting next Winter.
Have a great relaxing Winter day.

I am savoring rest this season. My garden kept me busy through October (tomatoes, applesauce, jam). The holidays and family obligations kept me busy right through the end of December. January was blissfully quiet. It was lovely to be unhurried. As the weather has warmed up I am anticipating spring and working in the garden, weeding etc. Even so I think, how will I fit it all in. Tomorrow thankfully is making lemon curd (we traveled last week to southern California and brought fruit home with us) and a good book!
